Description
2 Halketshall in Limekilns is an earlier 19th-century row house that is symmetrical, featuring two storeys and three bays. The exterior is constructed from sandstone rubble blocks, with dressed margins around the openings, an eaves course, and vertical margins at the arrises.
The south elevation, which is the principal front, has a central panelled door with a two-pane fanlight and flanking windows. Above, there are three first-floor windows that are centered.
On the west elevation, there is a sandstone rubble wall that adjoins No 3, featuring a plank door. A blocked gable window is located to the left between the ground and first floors, with a first-floor window to the right. There is also a single-storey outshot attached to the gable wall.
The north elevation is partially visible, showing a first-floor window from 3 Halketshall to the left and a central window (which was formerly a door) for 2 Halketshall. An outshot is located to the left.
The east elevation has a replacement door and window to the right, along with a replacement first-floor window above. There is also a plank door leading to the rear outshot.
The windows are predominantly four-pane timber sash and case types with horns. The roof is pitched and covered with replacement red concrete pantiles. The skews are raised, featuring moulded skewputts, and there is a corniced stone stack at the left gable apex, with replacement stacks at the central and right gable apexes. The west elevation outshot has a piended slate roof, while the rear outshot of No 2 is covered with replacement red concrete pantiles.
The interiors have not been seen since 2000.
