Description
5 Halketshall in Limekilns is a symmetrical 2-storey, 3-bay house built in the later 18th century. It features monopitch outshots on the right and left, with the right outshot set back slightly from the main façade. The exterior is finished with white harling and has painted surrounds around the openings.
On the south elevation, there is a central replacement door flanked by windows. Above, three catslide dormer windows are centered on the first floor. Each outshot has a bipartite window. The west elevation has a plain gable with a central door leading to the outshot and a window to the left. The north elevation was not visible in 2000. The east elevation shows a plain gable on the house, with sandstone rubble masonry exposed on the outshot.
The interior was not seen in 2000. The house features 12-pane timber sash and case windows, with horns on the first-floor windows, while the outshots have uPVC windows. The right outshot has two rooflights. The pitched roof is covered with grey slate laid in diminishing courses, has raised skews, harled gable apex stacks, and circular cans, while the outshot roofs are also slate.
