8 Grange Terrace, Kilmarnock

8 Grange Terrace in Kilmarnock is a symmetrical, two-storey, three-bay dwelling house built in the later 19th century, with a small outbuilding attached to the north elevation. The exterior features squared and snecked rubble, with the main (west) elevation painted. There are steps leading to the entrance door, a base course, hoodmoulds above the ground floor windows, raised margins, and lugged architraves on all windows.

The principal (west) elevation includes a central entrance porch with chamfered corners, a shaped entrance, and a broad entablature with a cornice. Flanking the main door are single windows, while the first floor has a central bipartite window with a stone transom, along with single windows on either side.

On the north elevation, there is a small gothic arched window in the gablehead and the small outbuilding at ground level. The east (rear) elevation was not visible in 2001. The south elevation features small gothic arched windows in the gablehead.

The windows are 10-pane timber sash and case, original on the ground floor and replaced on the first floor. The roof is slate, with coped stacks at the gableheads topped with cans.

The boundary wall is made of coursed ashlar sandstone and has moulded copes.
