Description
This barn, located approximately 100 metres north of The Warren, dates from the late 17th century. It features a timber frame set on brick plinth walls, with weatherboard cladding and a plain-tiled roof that is half-hipped at both ends. The barn is oriented parallel to the street and consists of seven framed bays, with opposing entrances at the centre; the entrance facing the yard is covered by a hipped-roofed mid-strey. Inside, the floor level is lower in the left half of the barn, while the right side is floored above the middle rail. The structure includes braced main posts and tie beams supporting Queen-post trusses, along with a double tier of staggered butt purlins. There is an outshot on the yard side, and some of the frame is missing from the right-hand end wall. Additionally, there is a single-storey stable range at right angles to the front, which is not of special interest.
