Description
La Chaumiere Restaurant is a cottage that has been converted into a restaurant, dating from the 18th century. The building features a timber frame that is exposed on the return fronts, with red brick infill on the right-hand return front and whitewashed roughcast infill on the left-hand return front. The front is clad in brown brick and topped with a plain tiled roof, which has fishscale tile hanging at the right end. It stands two storeys high on a plinth, with a plat band above the ground floor and a ridge stack located at the center.
On the street front, there are two leaded casement windows on the first floor and three ground floor windows below, all equipped with horizontal shutters. The entrance front includes a window in the gable with tension braces on the first floor, and two ground floor leaded casements positioned beneath a pentice drip board. To the right, there is a 20th-century brick and tile hung extension with hipped roof leaded casement dormers. The central entrance features a ribbed half-glazed door beneath a flat hood supported by brackets.
