Description
The Hour Glass is a cottage that has been converted into a restaurant. It dates back to the 16th century and was altered in the 18th century. The building features a timber frame with brick infill, including some herringbone patterns, and has a weatherboarded store with a thatched roof. It is one and a half storeys tall and consists of two bays with a central passage and smoke bay, with an additional storey added to one end. The front of the building has a brick and rubble plinth. In the small central bay, there is a small two-light casement window in a blocked door. To the left, there is a three-light casement window, and to the right, a two-light casement window, both of which are topped by a three-light eyebrow dormer. There is also a two-light casement window in the store on the right side. The roof is hipped, and there is a ridge stack located above the central bay.
