Description

Rosemary Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that was altered and extended in the 18th century. It is timber-framed with painted brick infill, a weatherboarded addition, and a thatched roof. The cottage is originally two bays, but a store bay was added to the left-hand side in the 18th century, now converted into rooms. A 20th-century door is set under a hood in the left-hand added bay. The centre bay has 20th-century one- and two-light leaded casement windows, with a similar 19th-century window in the original opening. The right-hand bay has a three-light casement window. An eyebrow dormer with a two-light leaded casement window above the centre bay, and a smaller window beside the door, are also present. The roof has a ridge piece, is whipped to the right-hand side, and features a stack on the front face and a hipped section with a stack above the hip on the left-hand side.
