Description
Burgate Manor, also known as The Game Conservancy, is a small country house dating from the 18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of brick with a Roman cement render and features a tiled roof. It has a layout of five by three bays, with a three-bay bow window at the front. The bow window in the center contains a triple light casement, flanked by niches that have triangular heads, cusping, and crockets. The end bays also have windows with Gothick glazing. On the first floor, there is a blocked two-light window in the center, with single light windows on each side. The pointed arched windows on the first floor in the end bays break through the eaves. The roof is hipped. The entrance front features a central arched recess porch, which is topped by a square stack with a gable motif below. At the rear, there are service wings designed in a similar style, each with separate hipped roofs.
