Description

Bridge House is an 18th-century house with an early 19th-century addition, located on Bridge Street in Fordingbridge. It incorporates a former surgery. The building has a mixed construction; some parts are brick with a pebbledashed finish, others are tiled, and still others have slate roofs. The main block is a two-story, four-bay 18th-century building, to which a three-bay early 19th-century section has been added on the right. A two-story wing, now used as a surgery, projects from the rear. The front of the house features a central, glazed timber porch, sheltering a six-panel door. Most windows are twelve-pane sashes, with a sixteen-pane sash in the link bay. The 18th-century section retains two- or three-light casement windows. Chimney stacks are positioned at each end of the link bay.
