Description

Church House is a house, possibly a former clergy house, dating from the mid-16th century, with a rear extension added in the 20th century. The building is timber framed with exposed whitewashed brick infill on the first floor and tile hanging on the left side of the return front. The structure is underbuilt in whitewashed brick and has plain tiled roofs. It is rectangular and positioned at right angles to the street, standing two storeys high with end jetties. The rear jetty is enclosed by the extension, while the front jetty features a moulded bressumer and brackets, with tension braces above on the first floor. There is a stack located at the rear left. On the first floor, there are two 3-light, metal framed casements, and the ground floor has two windows. The left-hand return front displays irregular fenestration, including two diamond pane windows on the first floor, two similar windows on the ground floor to the right, and two ordinary casements on the ground floor to the left. A single-storey extension is set back at the left end, with a door leading to the rear.
