Description
The Crooked House is a house dating from the 16th century, with significant alterations made around the late 18th century and further remodeling in the 20th century. It features a north-south range at two levels, with a jettied cross wing at the north end. The building is timber framed and plastered, with the jetty underbuilt in color-washed brick, and has plain tiled roofs. There is a 20th-century flat-roofed extension at the rear. The house has one storey and attic as well as two storeys, with scattered fenestration that includes some sashes in flush frames with glazing bars and some casements with glazing bars, mostly from the 20th century. A gabled dormer casement is also present. The entrance door is a fully glazed 20th-century design with bars and sidelights leading to the extension. A red brick stack is located at the ridge.
