Description

The Chequers Inn is a late 17th-century building, originally a pair of cottages and formerly an inn, situated on the west side of High Street, Wickham Market. It is constructed with a timber frame, now plastered and with a colour-washed brick face. The roof is covered in plain tiles. The building is one storey high with a half-dormer attic, featuring three casement windows with glazing bars. There are three gable dormers, also with casement windows and glazing bars. The front has two modern four-panel doors, and a central brick stack.
