Description

The Dog Kennel, located to the southwest of West Horsley Place, is a mid-19th century structure built for H Currie in the Artisan Mannerist style. It is constructed from reused 17th-century red brick and features a plain tiled roof. The kennel has a shaped gable end on the east side with an arched entrance. It measures approximately two feet high and four feet long. In her recollections from 1901, Emily Currie noted that her family moved to West Horsley Place in 1838 and mentioned that her father built the two brick dog kennels, which many people mistakenly believe were constructed at the same time as the house.
