Description
The building is a dog kennel located at the south-west corner of a farmyard, dating from the 19th century. It is constructed of brick laid in Flemish stretcher bond and features an old tile roof. The kennel is a single unit attached to the south end of a stable and cow shed.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a top modillioned brick cornice. The end of the building has two round-headed brick entrances that lead into a brick-walled run, which is enclosed by iron railings and a gate at the center of the front. There is a segmental-headed window on the first floor. The left side has brick steps leading to an entrance on the upper floor, which has a plank door in a moulded frame, as well as a small entrance to the left with a grille. The right side, facing the yard, has a low segmental-headed entrance. The roof is gabled, and the first floor contains a roof truss with struts and partition walls.
The kennel is believed to have been used for hunt terriers and is part of a group of buildings that surround three sides of the farmyard to the north of Lower Ingon Farmhouse.
