Description
27 and 29 Main Road are two cottages built around 1800. They are constructed of brick and feature a tile roof with a brick L-plan cross-axial stack and an end stack. The cottages are two storeys high and have a four-window range. A top modillioned brick cornice runs along the top. The entrances are segmental-headed and include gabled wooden trellis porches with six-panel doors. The ground floor windows are segmental-headed, featuring three-light small-paned casements with iron opening casements, while the end windows have similar two-light casements. On the first floor, the windows have two-light casements, with the left side featuring small panes. At the rear, there are two short gabled wings; the right wing has a lateral stack and segmental-headed windows, with a three-light casement on the ground floor and a nine-pane sash window on the first floor.
