Description

The stable block and store, located to the southeast of West Horsley Place, dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tiled hipped roof. At the center, there is a square weatherboarded lantern topped with a leaded ogee square dome and a weathervane. The building has a half-H shaped plan and is one storey high with attics beneath the hipped roof. There are two light dormers, one on each wing and one on either side of the center. The ground floor has a plinth and a moulded wood cornice at the eaves. The end wings each have two windows, although the outer ones are now blocked. There are leaded "cross" windows on either side of the center. The central section features double doors beneath an oval, keyed window. A clockface is present at the center of the cupola, and the clock workings are still intact inside.
