Description
Heveningham Hall Stables is a stable block associated with Heveningham Hall, dating from the late 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of red brick and features a glazed pantiled roof. It is a single-storey structure with a horseshoe-shaped plan that includes a courtyard open to the north. The stables have 12 lunette windows, some of which have been enlarged, along with several mid-20th century garage doors, and a flat parapet. There are two archways with pilasters and pediments, both featuring three-centred arches. The southern archway contains a compass dial within the tympanum, while the eastern archway has a clock face. Above the eastern archway, there is an octagonal bell turret adorned with slender columns, an entablature, and a shallow ogee roof topped with a wrought iron wind vane. At the time of the survey, the building was undergoing conversion to residential use.
