Description
This building is a barn, now used as a stable, located 30 yards behind Temple Court in West Clandon. It dates from the early 18th century and features a timber frame set on a brick plinth, with weatherboard cladding. The roof is large, plain tiled, and half-hipped, extending down in catslides over the aisles. There are fixed casement windows at both ends. The barn has single-storey extensions that project forward at the ends. In the center, there is a hipped roof projection with full-height double stable doors, creating a throughway. Inside, the barn consists of seven framed bays supported by Queen post trusses, and it has a staggered butt purlin roof with braced main posts.
