Description
The Old Cottage is a house that dates from the late 16th century on the left side, with extensions added in the 1930s on the right. The building features a timber frame that is exposed on the left, with red brick infill set on a brick plinth. The right side has false framed extensions and a weatherboard square bay. The roofs are plain tiled, hipped with a gablet on the right. The left side has one storey and an attic, while the right side has two storeys. There is a ridge stack to the left of the center and double square stacks at the rear right. The left side has three framed bays with arched bracing on the first floor. There are two hipped roof dormers through the eaves on the first floor left, along with one casement window at the left end. The ground floor features four leaded casement windows, and there is a hipped roof, two-storey square bay on the right. The entrance door is located to the right of the center, and there is a weatherboard pentice extension at the left end. A large hipped roof extension is present at the rear.
