Description

Bridge End House is a house that dates from the late 16th century on the left side, with an extension to the right made in 1770 and further extended to the rear in the 1930s. The left side is timber framed and clad in red and brown brick, while the right side features red brick extensions with burnt brick lettering on the gable end. The roofs are plain tiled, hipped at the rear, and step down to the left. The left side has one storey and an attic, while the right side has two storeys and an attic, with an end ridge stack on the left and a multiple stack at the rear, plus a small end ridge stack on the right.

The old range on the left consists of three framed bays with a plat band over the ground floor. Above, there are three gabled dormers with eaves, and below are two three-light windows with cambered heads. To the right, there is a half-glazed door in an architrave surround, which is sheltered by a flat hood on brackets. The 18th-century extensions to the right have one window range and feature giant pilaster piers at the ends, a plat band over the ground floor, and a modillion eaves cornice. There is a tile-hung, three-light dormer with a pentice roof in the roof, and one 16-pane glazing bar sash window on each floor below, set under gauged brick heads and pentice drip boards. The 1930s wing extends at right angles to the rear.
