Description
Yarne is a house with a core dating back to the 15th century, which has been extended at both ends and refronted in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame, clad in red brick on the lower part and tile hung above, with the bottom courses sweeping out over the ground floor. The original roof is hipped with gablets, while the extension has a plain tiled mansard roof. The house is one storey with attics, featuring four pentice-roofed, through-eaves, leaded casement dormers. The front is regular, with a large inserted stack positioned to the right of centre. There are four three-light casement windows with cambered heads on the ground floor. A half-glazed door is located at the centre under a pentice extension that is supported by curved braces. Additionally, there is a one-bay extension set back at a right angle to the right. Inside, some of the frame is exposed, including substantial ceiling beams.
