Description

This is a stable court dating from 1890, designed by Rowland Plumbe as part of Hatchford Park School. The building is constructed of red brick with tile hanging, featuring plain tiled hipped roofs. It is arranged around a courtyard with a prominent screen wall to the front, a rear range, and end wings.

The right wing is a single-storey pavilion with tall stacks rising from the ridges. The remainder of the courtyard structure is two storeys in height. The building has leaded casement windows, with five windows across the first floor of the rear range. A central door is located to the rear, and another on the side of the pavilion. A square clock tower with an obelisk roof and weathervane sits atop the pavilion, while the rear range features two louvred ridge turrets.

The front screen wall has quadrant end walls and a central arched gateway with a pediment. The date 1890 is inscribed in brick within a cartouche on the pediment.
