Description

The entrance walls, gates, and pavilions date to circa 1890 and form part of Hatchford Park School. The walls are constructed of rubble stone with dressed stone piers and iron gates. Two single-storey square pavilions are positioned approximately 40 yards apart. Each pavilion features a stone square roof with an ogee dome and a finial. Doric pilasters with obelisk finials are located at the corners above the pavilions. Arched entrances are provided to the sides of the pavilions, facing the house. A stone balustrade sits atop a dado wall, linking the pavilions to central paired gate piers, approximately 10 feet high. Square panelled armored busts with finials are positioned above the piers, each adorned with a feathered crest on four-legged scroll feet. The central paired iron gates are approximately 10 feet high and feature a C-scroll design.
