Description
Maltmans is a house dating from the late 16th century, with a 20th-century extension on the right. It features a timber frame, with some square panels and plain tiled roofs that are hipped and step up to the rear left. There is a weatherboard gable to the left. The building has two parallel gable end ranges to the left, connected by a pent roof link to the gabled extension on the right. The left side has two storeys, while the right side is a single storey. There are two rebuilt stacks in the valley of the parallel ranges on the left. The windows are irregularly arranged, including one casement window at the corner left on the first floor, one first floor casement window in the centre gable, a three-light casement window on the ground floor left, and a projecting square bay window on the ground floor centre. Additionally, there are two leaded basement windows on the ground floor right and a 20th-century door in the link bay. The left-hand return front displays exposed framing with three bays and casement windows, including one ground floor window under the pentice roof.
