5/61 Shrubbs Farmhouse t 1/3/68 II

House. Early C17 remodelled in C19 extended in 1870's. Timber-framed underbuilt on whitewashed brick below, exposed with brick infill above, whitewashed brick extensions; slate roofs. L shaped plan with wing to rear left. Two storeys with multiple ridge stack to left of centre, large ridge stack on rear wing. Main front has pent roofed projection to left end springing from just below eaves, ground floor projecting under pent roof to right. Attic to left under 2 flat roof dormers at eaves height, two casement windows to first floor right. Three ground floor casement windows including one taller 3-light casement to right of centre. Plank door to right of centre. Left hand return front:- Frame exposed on first floor, 2 casements on first and ground floors, including one 5-light window to ground floor left.

Interior:- Substantial framing visible especially in ceilings, deep fireplaces to ground floor, one with stone arch.
