Description
The Cloche Hat Restaurant is a house that has been converted into a restaurant. It dates back to the 16th century, with 20th-century extensions. The building features a timber frame that is exposed, with whitewashed brick infill on a rendered plinth and plain tiled roofs that are half hipped and step down to the right. It has two storeys and a large square chimney stack located to the left of the center. There are two framed bays in each section, with curved bracing in the left end and the left bay of the right half. The windows are arranged irregularly, with four casement windows on each floor. A ribbed door is positioned to the left of center, set within a shallow gabled porch that has margin lights to the left and a canopy at the front. The left-hand return front displays the exposed frame showing Queen post construction. Additionally, there is a single-storey flat-roofed store extension at the left end. Inside, the framing is visible.
