Description
Old Cottage is a house that dates back to the 17th century and was extended in the 19th century. It features a timber frame set on a rendered plinth, with whitewashed brick cladding below and tile hanging above. The roof is plain tiled, with a rear ridge stack on the left and an end stack on the right. The former main entrance, which is now at the rear, was originally positioned at right angles to the street. The building has an L-shaped plan with a gable front cross wing on the left. It is two storeys high and has a brick dentil band over the ground floor. There are four casement windows across the first floor and double casement doors to the left of centre. A new entrance is located to the left at the end of the cross wing, featuring a ribbed stable-style door in front of an open corner porch recess. There are extensions to the rear right. Inside, some of the timber frame is exposed.
