Description

Highwayman’s Cottage is a 16th-century cottage in Oxshott, located on the High Street in the Borough of Elmbridge. The building is timber framed with whitewashed brick infill and a pantiled roof, which is half-hipped with gablets. It features stacks located to the front left and end right. The cottage has two storeys and three framed bays. The windows are leaded casements, with some featuring a diamond pattern. A 20th-century bay window is present on the ground floor to the right, sheltered by a plain tiled pentice roof. A planked, ribbed and studded door, complete with strapwork hinges, is set within a recessed porch on the left side. A timber-framed wing extends to the rear of the property.
