Description

Oak Cottage is a cottage that dates back to the 16th century, with an extension from the late 17th century and alterations made in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame that is partly rendered and partly filled with brick, topped by an old tiled gabled roof. It has a rectangular plan with two framed bays, a 17th-century pent roofed extension at the rear, and a single-storey extension added on the left in the 20th century. The cottage stands two storeys high and has a large chimney on the left with an offset head. There is a 20th-century gabled closed entrance porch and irregular 20th-century leaded casements. Inside, much of the frame is visible.
