KINGHAM CHURCH STREET SP22SE (East side) 7/125 Pair of cottages and attached outbuilding approx. 20m N of Little Oven

Pair of cottages and attached outbuilding. Late C17 with later additions and alterations. Roughly coursed limestone and marlstone rubble; artificial stone slate roof. 2 storeys. 4-window front; first floor has two C19 casements to left, chamfered 2-light mullion window with dripstone to centre and C20 top-hung casement to right, 3 windows to left all directly below eaves. Ground floor has four C19 casements with wood lintels. Straight joint (mirrored to rear) to right of 2 left windows. Integral end stacks and ridge stack to centre, right rebuilt C20. Rounded rear right corner. Single-storey outbuilding attached to left gable end has C19 fixed-light window and boarded door to far left. Interior. Right ground-floor room of left cottage only inspected. This has encased cross beam and infilled inglenook fireplace with oak winder staircase to left. Included for group value. [2571]
