Description
Rose Cottage is a house from the early 19th century, with some minor later additions and alterations. It is constructed from uncoursed and roughly coursed limestone rubble, with some patches of marlstone, and features slate roofs with coped verges. The building is divided into two sections, with the right section being slightly taller.
On the left side, there is a 16-paned glazing bar sash window in a plain stone surround with a projecting keystone on both floors, and a 20th-century boarded door in a similar surround to the right. The right section also has a 16-paned glazing bar sash window in a similar surround on each floor. Both sections have integral end stacks with 20th-century brown brick shafts. Additionally, there are two late 20th-century sloping roof-lights on the right section. At the rear, there is a two-storey 19th-century gabled range that is set at right angles to the main building, along with a lean-to structure on the left side.
