Description
This cart shelter, located approximately 25 meters southwest of Hone Farmhouse, dates from the early 19th century and has undergone minor later alterations. It is constructed from regularly coursed and dressed limestone rubble, featuring alternating angle quoins that extend to the gable ends, with a front made of chequered red brick. The roof is covered with stone slates and has coped verges. The structure has two levels and a three-bay front, supported by wooden posts, with a plank door leading to an internal staircase on the right. There is a central gabled eaves dormer. Inside, there is a wide ladder staircase leading to the loft, and the roof features a collar and tie beam design in three bays with double butt-purlins. This cart shelter is part of a well-preserved farmyard group, which adds to its significance.
