Description

House. Built in the early 18th century, with later 20th-century additions and alterations. The house is constructed of roughly coursed marlstone rubble, with a concrete tile roof featuring coped verges and integral end stacks. It is two storeys and has an attic. The front has two 2-light mullion windows with leaded glass, positioned either side of a central gabled stone porch, where a tie beam is visible below the eaves. Two 20th-century gabled dormers are set into the middle of the roof slope.

The ground floor interior, now one large room, retains chamfered ceiling beams, joists, and remodelled inglenook fireplaces. Plank doors are used throughout the house, and wide floorboards are found on the first floor. The roof is a collar truss design in two bays, featuring double butt-purlins. The lower ranges to the left and right, incorporating numbers 3 and 1 respectively, underwent extensive renovation in the late 20th century. A two-storey gabled range built at a right angle to the rear is not considered to have architectural significance.
