Description
Rowan Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled concrete tile roof with brick stacks at the ends. The house has a two-unit plan and is two storeys high with an attic, presenting a two-window range. There is a flat hood over a 20th-century door, and timber lintels above the 20th-century windows. The gabled roof dormers contain 20th-century casements. At the rear, there are extensions from the 20th and 19th centuries. Inside, there is a stop-chamfered beam and a chamfered bressumer over an open fireplace, along with adjoining winder stairs on the right. The roof structure is a three-bay butt-purlin design. The building is included for its group value.
