Description
62 and 66 Barrow Road is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble and features a gabled old tile roof with brick symmetrical end stacks. The building has a two-unit plan, is two storeys high with an attic, and presents a symmetrical three-window range. There is a segmental brick arch over a late 19th-century plank door with an overlight. The ground-floor windows have 20th-century flat brick arches, while the first-floor windows feature timber lintels over leaded cross windows flanking a single leaded light. A raised storey band is present, along with gabled roof dormers that have two-light leaded casements. At the rear, there is a left wing made of similar materials, which is one storey high with an attic. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest. This building is included for its group value.
