Description

Church Farmhouse and its attached outbuildings are a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. The main structure dates from the 17th century, with a front range added in the early 19th century. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with a roughcast front and features a gabled roof, covered with Welsh slates at the front and old tiles at the rear. It has brick stacks at the ridge and ends and is arranged in a U-plan. The farmhouse has three storeys and a three-window range. The entrance features an early 19th-century six-panelled door, two of which are glazed, set beneath a trellis porch. There are rendered flat arches above the eight-pane sash windows.

To the rear right is a 17th-century wing that includes some timber framing with brick infill, although it is mainly clad in 18th-century uncoursed limestone rubble and has a hipped old tile roof. The left side has 18th-century wings made of uncoursed limestone rubble, both with gabled old tile roofs, and includes a two-storey section and a one-storey forge that features a four-light wood-mullioned window. There is also an early 19th-century one-storey outbuilding, possibly a coach house, located at the rear left, made from similar materials and featuring 20th-century doors at the rear gable entry. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
