Description

Peartree Cottage and Bakery Cottage is a house that has been subdivided, likely built in the early 18th century and altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The structure is made of limestone rubble with wooden lintels and features stone-slate roofs with a rubble-and-brick gable stack. It has a three-unit plan with a subsidiary rear wing and stands two storeys tall.

The front facade has four windows, with the main entrance located in the right bay, which features a plank door beneath a stone-slated canopy. The right bay contains three-light casements, while the left bay has two-light casements, all of which are adorned with stop-chamfered lintels. The upper courses of the wall include a date stone inscribed "Jw/1851". The right gable wall extends around the chimney projection, which supports a stack with a moulded plinth.

The left bays of the front have been altered and feature a lower roof, with two 20th-century casements above a garage door and a secondary entrance. The long rear wing, which is part of Bakery Cottage, consists of at least two builds and has 20th-century casements but still retains some chamfered lintels. Inside, there are fielded panelled shutters on one of the front windows.
