Description

Barn Cottage is a house, originally tenements, dating from the mid-17th century and later modernized. It is constructed of rubble with a Cotswold stone roof and features a large chimney to the right of the main part of the building. The house is in two parts; the two-storey section has two windows, which are two-light, chamfered mullion windows. A door is located to the right of centre, with a further window to its right. The older, single-storey section to the right has two gabled dormers, a three-light mullion window from the 17th century, and two 20th-century windows. Inside, a central room has cross-beamed ceilings with stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, an inglenook fireplace, and a stone newel stair survives from the first floor to the attic.
