Description

This gateway, dating from the 15th century, is located approximately 18 metres south-southeast of Woodman's Cottage in Steeple Barton. It is constructed from squared and coursed limestone and features a pointed chamfered arch. The coping is stepped and moulded, topped with a 17th-century ball finial. The flanking walls rise to about 4 metres and also have moulded stone coping.
