Description
Haven Cottage, Corner Cottage, and Oakleigh Cottage are a range of cottages located on The Green in Over Norton, dating from the mid to late 18th century. The cottages are constructed from coursed limestone rubble with squared dressings, featuring roofs made of Stonesfield slate and concrete plain tiles, along with stone stacks. The L-shaped range consists of four single-unit plans and one two-unit plan, all standing two storeys high.
The main range that faces The Green is divided into four sections, each with two windows, and all have segmental arches over the ground-floor openings. The three sections on the left, which now form one dwelling, feature 20th-century two-light casements and a plain-tile roof. Corner Cottage, located to the right, retains old leaded casements with two and three lights on the first floor, along with a wider three-light casement and an entrance below. Oakleigh Cottage, which faces Main Street, has a three-window front with leaded two-light casements and an entrance situated between the second and third bays. The interiors have not been inspected.
