Description

Two cottages stand on the south side of The Green in Evenley, dating from the mid-19th century as part of the planned development of the Green. They are constructed of squared, uncoursed limestone with a tiled roof, and feature a stone stack. The cottages are two storeys and an attic, with two bays each. Doorways are located to the sides, each featuring a wood lintel and plank door. Number 54 retains windows with wood lintels and 19th-century horizontal sash windows. Number 55 has 20th-century replacement windows. The roof is tiled, with bands of blue and dark red tiles. They are included in the listing for their group value.
