Description

The Evenley War Memorial is located on the southern edge of the large Green. It features a simple limestone cross approximately 4 meters high, with an inverted sword carved on both the front and rear faces. The cross is set on a three-stage octagonal plinth that rests on a square base. The front face of the plinth bears the inscription "THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918 LEST WE FORGET," while the names of the fallen are inscribed on the other faces of the plinth. Additionally, the top tier of the base includes the inscription "1939-1945." The modern flagged surround around the memorial is not included in the listing.
