Description

The memorial stands on the south edge of the large Green. It comprises a simple limestone cross, c4m high, with an inverted sword carved on both the front and rear faces. The shaft rises from a three-stage octagonal plinth on a square base. On the front face of the plinth is inscribed THE GREAT WAR/ 1914-1918/ LEST WE FORGET. The names of the fallen occupy other faces of the plinth. Beneath, on the top tier of the base, is inscribed 1939-1945.

The modern flagged surround to the memorial is excluded from the listing.
