Description

Membury War Memorial is a memorial featuring a Latin cross that stands over 5 meters tall. The cross has octagonal arms that rise from a tapered octagonal shaft. This shaft is positioned on an octagonal plinth with rounded corners, which in turn rests on a square base with two steps.

In front of the memorial, there is a limestone retaining wall that supports a stone dedication tablet. The tablet has an inscription in ornate, incised lettering that reads: "IN MEMORY OF/ THE SACRIFICES MADE/ DURING THE GREAT WAR/ AUGUST 1914 NOVEMBER 1918/ BY THIS SIGN THOU SHALT/ CONQUER."

Additionally, a bronze plaque on the memorial honors those who fell in the Second World War, stating "1939 – 1945/ (NAMES)."
