Description
Firs Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the late 17th century and late 18th to early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed squared marlstone with some ashlar dressings, topped with a concrete plain-tile roof and features ashlar-and-brick stacks. The building has a two-unit lobby-entry plan, with a rear wing, a rear outshut, and a converted farmbuilding. It stands two storeys high plus an attic.
The right bay of the two-window front has aligned stone-mullioned windows with four and three lights, situated below a gabled dormer. The left bay features a large segmental-arched sash window that is five panes wide, positioned at an intermediate height above a basement window. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door with an overlight above it. The steep-pitched roof is supported by three stone-based stacks, with the central stack aligned with the entrance. The rear wing, which extends from the right, includes casement windows and two additional stacks, while the outshut extends to the left. The converted farmbuilding range to the right of the main range is now part of the house. The interior has not been inspected.
