Description

This is a house, built in the early to mid-18th century. It is located on Main Street, Over Norton. The house is constructed of coursed squared limestone with wooden lintels, and has a roof of Stonesfield slate with brick stacks. It follows a three-unit through-passage plan, built in two stages. The two-storey, two-window front shows a central division. To the left of the division is the entrance and aligned two- and three-light leaded casement windows. The right-hand side has two two-light leaded casements on the ground floor and a similar window on the first floor. The steep-pitched roof has gable stacks and a central ridge stack associated with the right-hand side. There is an end outshut to the left. The rear of the house has further old leaded casement windows, including some openings with rubble segmental arches. The interior has not been inspected, but the building was likely formerly subdivided.
