Description

Glovers House is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century, situated on the east side of Main Street, Over Norton. The construction is of coursed squared limestone with wooden lintels, topped by a Welsh-slate roof and featuring brick gable stacks. The building has a three-unit plan with a smaller, subsidiary bay. The front facade has three windows across the main range. The first floor windows are large casements with 3, 2, and 3 lights respectively. On the ground floor, there are casement windows of 3 lights in bays 2 and 3, and an entrance with a four-panel door set within a rubble flat arch between those bays. A French window is located in bay one. The ground-floor windows have ashlar panels below the sills. A lower, set-back subsidiary bay to the right has additional casement windows and a secondary entrance. A rectangular stair projection extends from the rear of the main range. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included on the list for its group value.
