Description
The Old School House and attached outbuilding is a small house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone and features Stonesfield-slate roofs with rubble gable stacks. The building has a two-unit plan, plus a service bay and an outbuilding, and stands two storeys high with an attic.
The front of the main range is symmetrical with two windows and is taller than the service bay. It has three-light casements on both floors and a central plank door, all of which are topped with segmental rubble arches. The steep-pitched roof includes a central gabled dormer with a three-light casement. The lower service bay, which is set back to the right, has a two-light casement on each floor and a secondary doorway. There is also a moulded stone cellar window that may be a re-used feature. The roof extends over a narrow two-storey outbuilding that has a plank door on each floor. The interior has not been inspected.
