Description

Chadlington Farmhouse farm buildings, located approximately 50 meters to the east, consist of a barn, granaries, and cattle sheds dating from the early 18th century, with possible alterations from the late 18th century. The structures are built of coursed limestone rubble with wooden lintels and feature roofs made of Stonesfield slate and concrete plain tiles. This U-shaped group includes a 5-bay barn that has central full-height doors, lower opposed doors at the rear facing the yard, and numerous square vents. Two-storey ranges extend to the left and return from the right around the yard, both featuring single-row dovecotes and external steps leading to granaries, which may be later additions. Low cattle sheds, partly open, extend on both sides of the yard. Inside, the barn roof retains some queen-strut trusses and butt purlins. These buildings form a close group with Chadlington Farmhouse.
