Description
Choicehill Farmhouse includes a barn range to the east, dating from the early 18th century. The structure is built from coursed squared limestone with wooden lintels and features a Stonesfield-slate roof. It consists of three and five-bay barns, along with a three-bay stable or granary and a dairy section, creating a continuous eleven-bay range. Each barn has opposed central doors, with the taller central entry now partly filled in by a brick dovecote. The rear of the granary section, on the left, has an external stair. A lower dairy section on the left links to the rear wing of Choicehill Farmhouse. Inside, the barn trusses, which have tiebeams and collars, support two rows of butt purlins.
