Description
Owlscote Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the mid 17th century with a front added in the 18th century. It is constructed of red brick with flared headers in Flemish bond and has an old plain-tile roof that is hipped to the left. The building features a central brick ridge stack and an additional stack to the right. The layout is likely a two-unit lobby-entry plan.
The farmhouse is two stories high and has a two-window range. There is a plank door in the center with a segmental brick head and a flat hood above it. On either side of the door, there are modern three-light casements with segmental brick heads. The first floor also has modern three-light casements on the left and right. A painted wood dentil cornice runs along the eaves.
To the right is a wing from the 17th century, which is rendered and likely built on timber framing. The upper part features large timber framing with rendered infill, topped with an old plain-tile roof that is half-hipped to the right. This wing is a single story with an attic and has a single-day range. It includes a three-light casement on the ground floor and a gabled dormer with a three-light casement. The interior has not been inspected.
